Bourne Again

Charleys War is  back in print  courtesy of Rebellion (The backwards S was always the best logo ) I actually had a stab at colouring this image myself a few years back along with the first two episodes - https://hipsville365ad.blogspot.co.uk/2016/06/270616.html
(I sound a bit snarky here -probably had a few beers that night plus it was post brickit  or The Pig Head distraction incident-what  I was trying to describe was somebody complaining about Polish immigrants  kinda  makes me mad when people don't know there history- and distort it to there own fantasyland - perhaps this is why I like  this comic so much, alongside Joe's artwork it tries to tell the truth )
As much as I  love this story maybe it would of been too much of a challenge to colour  and maybe I'm more suited colouring  more fantastical stories set in the future or  Star Wars galaxy -it's become a thing to do  rather than a carrer goal -seeing as I have to work as a carer - still it would be my dream job-and  my eyesights getting  much worse . They've done a nice job on the covers here- I  left background white  in mine -but that wouldn't work on a front cover as its negative space I was thinking along the lines of inside cover at the time  as that image was used on the Titan Books inside cover back in the 80's - I now have Charleys War on disk as well as the Hardbacks with photo covers and  historical essays and the first volume of The Rebellion collection -with the other two volumes to follow in next couple of monthes -(I have to mention in the first edition the lettering is much better as before it was done mechanically as opposed to hand -I think Peter Knight and Steve Potter took over those duties in the later volumes  it's  also nice to see the colour pages inserted as they did not reproduce well in the hardback versions - But here's the writer Pat  who can explain Charley waaayy better than I  ever could.

I guess my next purchase has to be "Colour Like Carlos" I coloured this page today and I'm halfway through a Dredd pic but watching this vid it's not the full pic so alongside this book I'll have to buy a scanner -I wouldn't want to ruin originals anyhow but here's my colouring of Strontium Dogs  Johnny Alpha, & Durham Red and  Mega City Judge Joe Dredd himself-I'll have a go at Carlos and Alan Hebdens creations  Major Eazy and El Mestizo (Django before Tarantino's Django in the American Civil War) once I get a copy
I figured Durham would be kinda pale as she's always in need of blood .

"Alec Trench " lol -bit of a in-joke  -America has Jack Kirby we have Carlos -I hope one day Third World War will be collected .

Project 1313 of the Rag Tag Republic 3

Kir Kanos -by Paul Galaucy. I should really be colouring -I will resume with that soon enough - but lately been sucked back into Mass Effect 2 and after that Mass Effect 3 no doubt -must of completed both games about 4 times but keep coming back same applies to Fallout 4 and Red Dead Redemption - I'm hoping Respawn have good sense to follow this pattern of storytelling when new Open World(s) game comes out (Worlds would be better )the more freedom in these games the better ,
My ideal would story feature a Senate Commando  between Clone Wars and  Galactic Civil War  he/she could either take the path of good or evil It would really be down to the player  which routeto go down    -the more good you do the more blue armour you pick up  the more in touch with the empire the more Red gear  as you go further through story you''ll be rewarded perhaps pickup force powers along the way  -could also go undercover tangle with the Hutts Pikes and Black Sun gangster syndicates maybe help out various systems under pirate attack or be part of the attacks  -maybe that'll be a game that lives in my brain  but it's a good idea..maybe go back to it in writing  a story .
As we've already had Republic Commando  this would be a much different perspective , human or maybe even non human protagonist rather than clones who would prey witness first hand  the  vast  change from Republic to Empire -and the disintegration of the Senate- planet by planet ...That would work more in a third person RPG  style game rather than a straight out shooter , the nature of the combat would be different possibly character masters the various galactic martial arts . We didn't really see much of Senate Commandos except in Clone Wars series where they seemed to be unworthy on the title Commando but I'm sure that wouldn't always be the case.

I can imagine Palps assigning these guys wet work seeing as no one knows their faces. This post really concerns the future game made by Respawn and the cancellation of what seems perfectly well executed games that we will never see in there true form -I'm hoping the new game will take aspects from these cancelled games as they look exactly the kind of thing I had in mind, I hope they do a good job needs a on-going single player with dlc of planets rather than microtransactions -if multi-players a focus follow Rockstars example GTA V still doing well seems like eons ago since it's release Project Rag Tag seemed the perfect bridge between Hope & Empire I can see this been revived somehow ; although should have character creation not sure I could celebrate Movember throughout duration of  a whole  game-Dodgers kinda Stacy Keach  in space.. the chicks very Aphra too I'd liked to have a chin wag with her in a RPG setting-I do have a issue with one of the reasons this game was cancelled that been it focused too much on players creativity -reason I love Fallout 4 so much is that is like directing your own movie you can choose the aesthetics of that world and it's inhabitants - the lighting (if you have a companion with a mining helmet for example )cut scenes can differ every time -can even mess up the weather conditions with mods -this would work very well in a Star Wars context-players could make there very own take on series I see nothing wrong with that-It was nice to bump into Luke Han, Leia and Lando in BF2 -it would of been neat to bump into familiar faces or helmets  well known or not so well known and recruit them to your crew for a few missions -perhaps that'll happen in the new Respawn game if that doesn't get cancelled too.
No Spoilers now :(
Batuu would be a cool location to explore in game -seeing as it's a hideaway and trader world.

Solo 2

I do like the colour scheme here-very "Han Solos" Revenge harks back to that vibe -plus if only Play School had a Millennium Falcon shaped Window back in the day...
Stayed up late last night must of watched this trailer about 10 times already. Puckish Roguin'! I like how Correlia is Correlia -a shipbuilding world like a Space Belfast or  Liverpool -opening shots grande. Alden reminds me of Jack Nicholson rather than Harrison  although I reckon he might just work in this role-looks great here his Jackets a bit Apollo out of Battlestar Galactica - maybe it's a nod to that . From what I hear Nests a chick the really cool looking armoured pirate I raved on about in first trailer-Masked Maruders  the Cloudriders -Music in trailer is very "Eye of the Tiger" meets Morricone .Rangetroopers -Mudtroopers and that's only scratching the surface of variety of Troopers lol -so much to mention here I have my own thoughts -I'm optimistic at least -more of a Space Pirate Bounty Hunter fan than all that Jedi stuff (they've had plenty of movies this seems more up my street ) If they do a TV series I'm hoping it focuses on period between  Sith and Hope but whatever they have planned bound to tune in - but lets see if I missed anything...

Landos very Sonny from The Godfather-not sure he sounds like Billy Dee though -have to wait till May - the dude here reckons that's Mimban rather than Correlia my intial thought that's Hans homeworld  as Mimban's a swamp planet hence Mudtroopers -but this guy eats sleeps and drinks Star Wars so he might be right
A few more promo things bound to be more as weeks go by -my first exposure to Star Wars as a 4 year old was through Bubblegum cards  so I can relate to this advert  another nice surprise this week.

Trouble with this advert I'd rather have The Falcon or at least a Swoop bike than the motor they're trying to flog I bet Han don't pay his hypherspace tax either. There's meant to be a twist at end of the movie-possibly Lando or Chewie are at the controls when The Kessel Run is complete rather than Han-he likes to take credit or at least his ship ..as for cloudriders .. remember this story too I know Lucas wasn't a fan of Jaxxon .. I did like the spiney guy very James Coburn in Magnificent Seven- he'd fire out quills Roy Thomas Howard Chaykin, Tom Palmer -first ever EU? Issue 7 I think before Splinter of Minds Eye.

HypTV 40

It's so great Thee Hypnotics returning I must of seen them about 4 times & once at legendary 100 Club should of went to party afterwards but was striving to pay the rent and I had to walk miles to get one hours sleep then back to work-so full of energy in my 20's  though it's strange to think 20 years goes like a blink of a eye maybe it's different for other people ... but RnR galore as usual  Stones, Neil(great to see Nils in  documentary I met him when I was 17 the day my Dad died as he was playing in my town my friend took me along to see him play to take my mind off what happened we were going to see him anyhow but it helped but now thinking about it I did chat with Nils after the show -I was still in shock but it did help music is a great gift it begins the healing process)  + ,Downliners  Barry with Gram the Man and the sequel to Dads Army (had this strange dream once where they ended up in Normandy by accident of course they seem stuck in 1941-42 I always wondered what happened to them after Invasion of Sicily would of made a good episode... now I know  from Radio show I only heard the other day.
